Since returning home, He keeps on revealing many precious insights through the special moments we had in Paris! Today I want to share with you more one of them.
The first time I went to Paris was for a religious reason. I went with a group of friends to the World Youth Day with the Pope (I came from a Catholic background) and it was something historical…we were the young people who represented Brazil in the midst of thousands of other youth from all over the world.
At that time, I felt passionate about Him as my Lord and Savior. Somehow, people used to misunderstand the way I was living after I came back to church and became so involved with church stuff. So when I told them about my going to Paris, the City of Love, they started asking me with whom I was going or if I was planning to meet someone special during the trip—after all— it would be a trip to Paris!
Being single at that time, I have to say that finding someone was a desire I had. So in some way, I thought of finding this “someone” on this event. But I confess that I became more amazed at being one of the Brazilian young people that were representing my country! I was fascinated by having all Portuguese speakers together celebrating in our different accents! So I came back to Brazil very happy with my stay in
Now, in this new opportunity, He was taking me once more to the City of Love – Paris! However, no longer as my Lord and Savior, but as my Heavenly Husband, my Provider, Friend, the One Who is continually embracing me in His Loving and Powerful arms! Oh, I never dreamed that it could happen to me – being back in Paris, not looking for “someone”, because this time, I had the One that my heart longed for, for so long! So throughout my stay, I felt loved and pampered!
Moreover, at this new opportunity, I was with my dearest friends, they were from different places all over the world, but with the same heart and mind as mine 🙂 We are all His brides, His beautiful brides… to think about them and all the things we shared in Paris puts such a big smile on my face and I miss each one of them!
On one of our nights at the wonderful and cozy place He provided to us, Lota was reviewing the translations of the book Finding The Abundant Life in Spanish. She was looking for an appropriate expression and then Sara searched in the Portuguese FAL book and by the resemblance to Spanish; it was possible to help Lota to find the expression that she was looking for 😉
I realized that even speaking different languages, as He is the Reason and the One that can make it all happen—all of a sudden, we were all speaking the “same language”! We are all called to find and live the Abundant Life that Only He can give us!
He reminded me of something so special: without any previous plan, we saw ourselves walking through the famous “Pont des Arts” (The Arts Bridge) above the Seine River. This bridge is known as the most romantic one in Paris. On the bridge, several padlocks can be seen attached to its posts. The padlocks represent the love vows exchanged by couples. So our HH led us to that place to remind us of the only one true promise of love that lasts forever and that He is the Only One that can be faithful to keep it!
Another day walking through the subway galleries of Paris, we heard the song “La
And when You speak, angels sing from above
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs
Give your heart and soul to Me
And life will always be
Life in Pink (La Vie En Rose)
When He takes me in His arms
He whispers to me
I see life in pink (La Vie En Rose)
By sharing all these wonderful memories, I hope that each one of us can assure you, my dear bride, that you and I can have the Love that lasts forever—no padlocks needed 🙂 Because what He wants to have is our hearts <3
Please, my dear, believe that He has amazing and wonderful things for you, much more than what He gave us in these days in Paris. He has the Abundant Life to give you and to give to me too! So let’s run into His arms and tell Him: You are all that I want and need, You are the reason that I live!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” -the things God has prepared for those who love him” – 1 Corinthians 2:9
