♕ Today's Promise: "I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4
Minka, how did your Restoration Journey actually begin?
I thought everything was fine. Been married 18 years and together 20. Back in January my husband, Andrew got on Facebook and connected with people who are supposed to be his family. He started visiting these people who live 4 1/2 hours away. Things quickly changed. He said he no longer loved me. He began talking on the phone with one of the women he had met daily. He went again to stay with her for 2 weeks. He then left our family to go live with her in May. I was desperate and broken. I immediately began crying out to my Heavenly Husband. I thought I would die, I couldn’t eat or sleep. That is when my journey began.
How did God change your situation, Minka, as you sought Him wholeheartedly?
In the beginning I did everything wrong. I begged, pleaded and everything with Andrew. The whole time I was praying and seeking the Lord. I didn’t understand but I did know from the beginning that this was a spiritual battle. My Heavenly Husband in all of His wonderful kind loving ways started showing me my own sins and faults. He showed me that I had left Him. He showed me I was contentious and had self-righteousness. I thank Him so much for removing the scales from my own eye. He is so amazing and wonderful. Worthy to be praised at all times. He also showed me I was prideful. I never knew these things about myself. He is so faithful. I started applying His principles and Andrew started getting in touch with me more, asking me to pray for him and telling me he didn’t want to be with ow anymore.
What principles, from God's Word (or through our resources), Minka, did the Lord teach you during this trial?
He taught me that I need to have Him first above all. He taught me that He truly is faithful and good. He showed me truth in His word. He has loved me so much and carried me when I thought I would die. He has truly opened my eyes to so many things I was deceived about. He is so loving and wonderful. He draws us back to Himself. He taught me to truly lean on Him and trust Him. He has taught me that He is all I truly need and to ask Him and Him alone for my needs.
What were the most difficult times that God helped you through, Minka?
The most difficult times were when Andrew first left and when he would come visit and leave again. The Lord helped me every time by loving me, holding me and carrying me. He is so faithful and loving. I could feel His love and presence. I would declare His word and praise Him and pray continually. I had to stay in His presence. Even when I would become fearful or overwhelmed or doubtful, He would love on me. He would pick me up and set me back on His solid rock.
Minka, what was the "turning point” of your restoration?
The turning point was when I did let go of Andrew and had peace. I would tell my Heavenly Husband every day not my will but Your will be done.
Tell us HOW it happened, Minka? Did your husband just walk in the front door? Minka, did you suspect or could you tell you were close to being restored?
Andrew had been talking to me about problems with the ow. He said he wanted to leave her, that he’s seen the truth about her. He came home for the weekend to visit the children. That Saturday night he was very conflicted and had me pray for him. He said he was sorry for all that had happened. He stayed until Monday morning. He then had his friend take him back to OW’s house while she was gone and he got all of his things and returned home.
I did kinda think I was. Things were going wrong for me and for Andrew. He had been calling me more discussing problems he was having with ow. At first I didn’t want to get my hopes up because he had done that before. I just continued to give it to my HH. Then I kinda thought so because about a week before he came home I had a real urgency to go through and clean out and organize my house.
Would you recommend any of our resources in particular that helped you, Minka?
I would recommend all of your resources because they are all filled with God’s biblical truth and principles.
Would you be interested in helping encourage other women, Minka?
Yes
Either way, Minka, what kind of encouragement would you like to leave women with, in conclusion?
Always trust the Lord. Give yourself completely to Him, that’s what He desires. He says delight yourself in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart. He is your perfect Husband so look to Him first and above all. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Always allow Him to show you His way and His truth. Allow Him to break and mold you. He is so faithful and loving in all His ways.
Rejoice always with your Beloved. Trust fully in His love and His protection. Perfect love casts out fear. Let’s seek always that perfect love that comes only from Him!
Never place your earthly husband above your Heavenly Husband. With your Heavenly Husband first you’ll be in perfect peace and love and will then know how to be a wife to your earthly husband. Don’t try to pursue your earthly husband. When fear and doubt comes in to distract you, turn your eyes to the Lord. Keep your focus on Him always and He will protect you.
