That Amazing Grace

It may have been a year or two ago, when we first did a fellowship and the lesson was on https://loveatlast.org/fc/living-the-abundant-life/601-2/ Chapter 6 โ€œThat Amazing Graceโ€. I remember telling the ladies about my aunt that has passed away who had such grace. Never a rude or unkind word would pass her lips and when she did express that she was not pleased with something, she did that with grace as well. I remember telling my Husband that I wanted to be like that.
Maybe a week or so ago, we ordered some groceries to be delivered and the person delivering squashed our bread under the other things a bit and he apologized feeling so bad, but I told him, this was nothing to worry about and still tipped him. My son was surprised that I did not get angry because he knew that his stepmom would be angry.
Then Saturday we were on our way home from the salon and I cannot even remember what it was I did that day, but my daughter expressed how there are not a lot of moms like me. She said, mom you are so loving and understanding and even when you are not happy with something we did, you never scream, you always explain in a loving way what we did wrong.
My Husband immediately reminded me of that lesson and my desire and I got tears in my eyes because He is turning me into the woman that I am longing to be. He still has a lot of work to do in me, but is it not awesome ladies, that He is doing it and not me? It is His grace that is sufficient for me every day that is doing all this. If I tried to do all of this in my own strength, I would never be able to sustain it, but Him doing it, wow, that is just so amazing!
And the thing is if it was anyone else telling me that, it would not have made such an impact on me, but it was my children, the ones that see me at my worst.

  1. Just Beautiful. Especially coming from your children, telling you how patient and kind you are. It reminds me of us telling our HF how patient and kind He is and how He must feel when we praise Him. ๐Ÿ’•

  2. I love how your HH is working through you so your kids are able to see the difference between others who are in the world and wise women like you Yvonne. He is giving you the desire of your heart and a great way to teach your kids without any words, just through compassion to others and love.

  4. This is just beautiful Yvonne my eyes welled up that you received these comments from your children you are so blessed and I am so happy for you that Lord make these changes within you even without you knowing isn’t that amazing. PTL I pray that Lord would make all these sweet changes in me as well amen

  5. Yvonne I agree with everyoneโ€™s comment. What my Husband also pointed out and reminded me of is that the change happened due to you wonderfully spending time with Him. It wasnโ€™t by talking about your issues the therapy that everyone even Christians resort to because it would never change you but instead it would reinforce the negative.
You simply asked and trusted Him and He gave you the desires of your heart. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’— You are an epistle read by all but especially read and witnessed by your children ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

  6. Oh yes where would be we be without His amazing grace and love for us? It’s that love that changes us from the inside out because HE 1st loved us. These words coming from your kids mouths make it extra special.
