The new year has begun and my promise for the year is: “I love the Lord, because He hears my supplications. He listened to me when I called on Him.”
He listens to me when I call on Him, isn’t that beautiful?
I was also almost certain that I had heard that this was going to be a year of rest. Hahahaha, but then of course shortly after the new year, 3 hours into the new year to be exact, I had a crisis with my two dogs and the day after a crisis with my children and their dad.
After it happened, I wondered if I had heard wrong, but then I talked to my Husband about it, isn’t it nice that we can talk to him about anything? And of course, He is faithful and asked me if I trust in people or in Him and that brings me to my second verse for the year and that is: “Those who hope in Me will not be disappointed”.
I added my two verses on my phone background with a picture. Every time I turn on my phone, I see the background and I am reminded that He has heard me and if I hope in Him, I will not be disappointed.
Of course, my hope is sometimes in people, but every once in a while He reminds me that my hope should only be in Him.
Who is your hope in today? Is it your children, your husband, your former husband, your parents, your friends? Just remember that He is the one you should be hoping for. If today you hear something from someone you don’t want to hear, something that might hurt, remember the words: “My hope is in you, my Husband, my Maker and not in people, thank You that You will never disappoint me.”
Thank you so much Yvonne for sharing!! You just confirmed the 2 scriptures He has given me for this New Year ππΎ I too have encountered so much struggles to start off the New Year and even my close friends…
I am reminded that His grace is sufficient for us and that HE dies not want us to lean on our own understanding π We need to be like babies and rest in His arms while HE takes care if us just like a mother would take care of her children.
But even better we are His Beloved Bride who He loves ππ° because His word says that He loves us with an everlasting love and He draws us close with His lovingkindness π
