I thought having a deep intimacy with God was something I could obtain immediately or overnight. I am realizing intimacy cannot be rushed. It is a process. It is something that must be worked on, on a regular daily fellowship with God. For instance, Michelle wrote her desire for this deep intimacy with the LORD and she began to seek Him daily before the sun came up. Then her focus began to change, followed by her heart. She mentioned spending 'ENOUGH TIME' in the Word, in the prayer closet which she developed a closer walk with God who blessed her with happiness, love and security. Things we women long to feel. Therefore, the more time we spend with God, the more closer we get to Him and develop this intimacy.
I have been struggling with understanding this intimacy with the Lord. But this chapter shows clearly that it is about developing in time. Fasting is helping with disconnecting with distractions such as food and addictions to focusing on the Lord through prayer and meditating on His word. It prepares the way for God to communicate clearly for His revelations and purpose for our lives.
Adam and Eve lost the dominion and that deeper relationship with God because of what they ate. Jesus started taking back that dominion because He fasted and understood the power of fasting that connects with God before starting on His mission with a clear purpose.
Sometimes God makes a promise that requires a process. So often we want the promise, but we do not want to go through God's process to get us there. Jesus went through the process to get to the promise.
Pray with me: Dear Lord, I give You my heart and soul. You are the only one I live for. With every breath I take, Lord, I want You to have Your way in me. I need Your anointing from Your Holy Spirit to discover the gifts You placed in me. Help me discover my purpose for Your work and glory. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may not be timid with whatever comes my way. But to have power, love, and self-control. I surrender my will to Your will.
Dear Brides, we once thought that as soon as our husbands walked away, they took away with them our happiness, image, security, and life. Then we watched in despair, humiliation, and hopelessness as they began to showcase to the world how they have made the right decision in getting rid of us and living their life in happiness. So we thought, that is the ugly truth.
But I've also found the real truth, from the source who is the way, the truth and the life, my Lord Jesus Christ, who says quite the opposite - He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for my sake will find it.
You and I have no idea how incredible and amazing this life truly is. We just have to press on in finding it in Him.
"He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 10:39
"You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." Jeremiah 19: 13
I have reached a level in my journey where I am willing to lose the life I thought I wanted, and seek the LORD with all my heart because I long to find Him and to have the life He wants me to live. I am feeling blessed already for losing the kind of life I thought would fulfill me and finding the life Jesus intended for me to have.
Draw your attention more towards the Lord who does incredible things. Finding the Abundant Life is a must read for those seeking the Lord to transform our way of thinking during a crisis.
