Finding Peace in Waiting: Trusting God’s Timing

Dwell in silence before the Lord. Wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes." โ€” Psalm 37:7

My dear Ladies,

Throughout this week, I took a sweet moment to read with my Beloved (devotion). And as often happens, He gently spoke to me, this time through Psalm 37 in the devotion. As I read it, I felt how He wanted to encourage and lift me up.

He softly whispered these truths to me, like a love whisper to my heart:

The happiness we think we see in othersโ€ฆ is not always real. Sometimes, it's just an illusion used to make us doubt what we have already received.

And what if, behind those smiles, there is great distress? An absence of Him, our Source?

He invited me to renew my thoughts. To turn towards what is good, true, and pure. To remember that my hope is in Him alone.

He whispered to me to lay down my burdens, to rest for a momentโ€ฆ and to let go of all my plans. To fully trust Him for tomorrow.

To keep seeking Him, even in the little things of daily life.

To celebrate the blessingsโ€”big and smallโ€”that He has already sown along my path.

To believe that in waiting, He is at work, even in the hearts I thought were lost.

And that one day, wickedness will disappearโ€ฆ to make room for something new, transformed.

Reading How to Be Blessed This Year by Erin also made everything even clearer: Our Beloved calls us to stay close to Him, not to be carried away by what we see, but to keep our eyes fixed on His promises.

If you're reading this today, know that you're not alone. Maybe you've had those moments of self-pity, those looks towards "others" who seem to have it allโ€ฆ but there is so much sweetness to be found in His presence. Come back and rest in His arms. He is waiting for you.

HTBB: Principle 10 โ€“ "Name Them One by One"

"Often, the enemy leads us to hold on to negative thoughts during times of self-pity or when someone offers us sympathy because of what we're going through; when something or someone has offended or hurt us. These feelings are deeply rooted in PRIDE. We simply believe that we donโ€™t deserve what we're experiencing, and that God owes us an easy life. Really? As if God owes us ANYTHING more! If Jesus never did another thing for you or me, we would already have more than we deserve in our salvation. Amen? So be very careful with self-pity or adopting a defensive posture. This attitude can sink you faster than anything else."
