“I Have Summoned You by Name”

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze....Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, I will.." Isaiah 43: 1-2, 4

I know I am not drawn to these verses twice in the same day with no reason. My love is calling. Can you hear? "Whoever has ears, let them hear." Matthew 11:15
"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her." Hosea 2:14

I enjoyed journaling this chapter in "Moving Mountain" -

It has spoken to me that His promises are not conditioned on our circumstances. "...For He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23

Don't lose sight of Him and His promises that would lead us to move mountains. No matter what your circumstances look like, what really matters is what the Lord says. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

  1. Gioia thanks for sharing. I have also been reading Moving Mountains. Chapter 4 was one I enjoyed. One of my favorite parts is where it says:

“We must hold on to the hope we say we have and not allow anything to change or vary it, lest we find ourselves robbed of so much more than we could have imagined.
There are so many Christians who never make it past the level of hoping for something. This is due to an inability to comprehend the true nature of Godβ€”the God who can be trusted if what you desire is something that He has promised. Often it takes tears in your prayer closet to come out with the peace that we can trust the Lord and know that somehow, in someway, He will work it out for goodβ€”though sometimes in the moment, we can’t really imagine how He can”

    1. Thanks for sharing Hope! It made me think of how easily we give up when we dwell in the moment and do not see anything happening. Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things. hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

  2. Thank you Gioia, what a beautiful reassurance that our Darling Lord will be with us, all the way. I remember years ago and our Darling Lord gave me the verse that I do not have to be affraid and what a beautiful reassurance that we are His.

    1. Dear Janine, oh yes. For me every time I think of this verse, it makes me feel secure and that’s so important for me.

  3. Thank you dear for reminding us of this beautiful chapter. It leads me to remember that his promises are sweet details for us that console us, encourage us and fill us with hope for the future. But it also aligns with the message He has been giving me this week to remain faithful because He desires to honor me and faithfulness has a lot to do with faith and perseverance. Just by reading the opening verse of the chapter I feel his fourth or fifth confirmation regarding the promise he has made to me.

” Let us hold on to the hope we say we have and not be changed. We can trust God that He will do what He promised.” H1023

    1. Dear Anastasia, confirmations are just beautiful. I feel that when we get to know Him more intimately, the more we can feel He is speaking to us.

  4. Yes, What He says is all that matters, He has the last word and also the most important word, because of He uses it to give us answers and to talk to us. I love that lesson because it speaks straight to my heart knowing that his promises applies to us all and we can have Faith in Him
    Psalm 27:13
    New Life Version
” I would have been without hope if I had not believed that I would see the loving-kindness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

    1. Dear Jewel, oh yes. I have to constantly remind myself it does not matter what I see, it matters what He says about me and my situation. You are absolutely right – He has the last say and that makes all the difference!
