“Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, and Your thoughts toward us; there is none to compare with You; if I would declare and speak of them, they would be too numerous to count” (Ps. 40:5).

Beloved, what do you rehearse in your mind? What do you meditate on? Are you taking captive every thought to the obedience of God? Are you thinking of those things that are pure and lovely? Or are you rehearsing past hurts, past mistakes you have made? Are you thinking over and over in your head the plans of the wicked that someone has professed with insolent pride? Do you rehearse the worries and threats spoken to you?

Beloved, there are so many wonders that the Lord has already done for you! Why do you not rehearse, meditate on, and proclaim these things? Have you a place to write them down so that the enemy cannot steal them in times of despair? Write them down now. Are there not numerous wonders that He has already wrought on your behalf? Now write down all the thoughts that the Lord has toward you, the promises that He has given you in His Word. Write them down and read them throughout the day, every day.

Beloved, tell God how good He is for all that He has done for you. And every blessing, every wonder that He does, add it to your list. Soon, oh so soon, they will be too numerous for you to count. He delights in blessing you and loving you. Give Him room in your heart—He longs to bless you. Begin today to count your blessings one by one and show others by your joy what God has already done.

“Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; my ears You have opened; burnt offering and sin offering You have not required” (Ps. 40:6).

Beloved, there is no need to sacrifice. This is not what He has required. He does not need your offering; this is not His desire. Beloved, it is the broken and contrite heart that the Lord will not and does not despise. Is your heart broken up wide? Allow Him to open you up in order to pour His healing balm in.

Beloved, there is not anything you can do that can please God. No works—no, they are a mere outpouring of what He has done. We come and lay our works on the altar and they are burned up with nothing remaining. Instead, He wants you to lay down all you desires and all of your heart right there on the altar—and there He will take it and fill it with His love.

Beloved, allow Him to open your ears to His still small voice, the voice of the One who wants to tell you how precious you are to Him. It is not in the doing, but in the being. Today, spend time just sitting in His presence. Don’t do anything. Lay all your works outside the door. There is nothing that He wants but you. Can you tell Him today that He is all you want too? Then share with Him your heart today!

October 3

“I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart” (Ps. 40:8).

Beloved, is your delight to do the will of God? Or is it still foremost in your heart to do your own will? God moves for those who are wholly devoted to Him. He does not move when there is idolatry, a devotion to someone or something save Him alone. If your marriage is still first, if your thoughts about your husband supersede your thoughts of the Lord, then He is not first; therefore, your delight will not be to do His will, but yours.

Beloved, how will you right this situation? By writing His Word, His laws, His love within your heart. Oh, the wonders of His laws! How they are food for the soul and the mind. How they help us identify secret sins of the heart. How they guide us. How they comfort us. Oh, the beauty found in His most glorious law!

Beloved, once this law has been written on the parchment of your heart, then His will will become your will. Then your delight will be all the blessings He has for you. No longer will you seek what is not for your good, but you will yearn for the abundant life that He has planned for you, in proper order with Him as the center of your being.

October 4

“I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; behold, I will not restrain my lips, O Lord, You know” (Ps. 40:9).

Beloved, have you been proclaiming the goodness and righteousness of the Lord amongst the believers? Or, do you instead have nothing but complaining, worry, and fret to share with those who you beg to “pray for you”? Oh, Beloved, get alone with the Lord. Allow Him to change you. Rehearse your praises by counting them one by one to Him in your prayer closest. Look at all He has done for you, and you will easily explode with glad tidings.

Oh, the sad and miserable state of most believers: downtrodden, bewildered, lacking. Is it any wonder that your loved ones have chosen the things of the world to make them happy? Why choose the Lord when you proclaim doom by your countenance and your ill reports? Why would they choose what you have when you make it seem like a prison sentence, not at all what it should be?

Beloved, it is because you have chosen neither sin nor the fullness of the Lord. For in His fullness there is joy. You sit, lukewarm, in the middle, not embracing the Lord. So how can you show the awesomeness of the Lord when you don’t have enough of Him to transform you, your countenance, and your life to be a proclamation to those in the world who are lost and dying and running after sin?

Beloved, today run after, embrace, yearn for, hunger for, and crave Him and only Him. Get rid of anything that will not bring you closer to Him. Then you will see transformation, and your lips will not be able to withhold the glory and goodness of the Lord!

October 5

“I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation” (Ps. 40:10).

Beloved, has the righteousness and faithfulness of the Lord been hidden in your heart? Do you fail to share it with others? Are you waiting for something bigger and then you will tell of it, something bigger like your loved-one returning, your relationship being restored?

Oh, Beloved, how many I have seen who are blessed, but in a small way, so they withhold the praise that is due Him! Never do the blessings increase because they choose to bury their blessing instead of shouting it from the rooftops. Why? Because it is not a restored marriage, not a healing, not a lottery won—it is just that the Lord did a small thing in their eyes. Oh, yes, it was what they needed, but it wasn’t what they were really hoping for.

Beloved, if the Lord never did another thing for you; He has saved you, has He not? Then sing of the faithfulness of His salvation to the congregation. Meditate on it. What would you do, where would you be without it? The Lord upholds you daily; no longer are you in the sorry state that you were when this entire situation began to unfold. Sing! Sing of His lovingkindness!!

Beloved, what of the truth that was revealed to you that turned your hopelessness into hope? Have you sung and spoken of it to those who are right now in the depths of despair? Joy can be yours if you refuse to hide and conceal the faithfulness, salvation, lovingkindness, and the truth of the Lord from others. Do it today, with everyone you meet, and watch what the Lord will do for you.

October 6

“You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me” (Ps. 40:11).

Beloved, how secure are you in the lovingkindness of the Lord on your behalf? Are you confident that the Lord will not withhold His compassion from you? That His lovingkindness and His truth can preserve you through this entire trial that seems to linger?

Beloved, without this, you will grow weary in doing well.

You must get ahold of this truth. All that you need, He has. You do not need anyone or anything else. You do not need anything except the Lord. His Word, His truth, and His compassion will cover everything you need. Seek the best things. Seek Him first and He promises that “all things will be added unto you.”

Beloved, He says that His truth will continually preserve you. Continually means that it will be done with great frequency, with faithful regularity. Continually means that it will happen all the time, without stopping and without interruption. He promises that His lovingkindness and His truth will preserve you continually. That means that He will keep you protected from anything that might cause your present quality or your present condition to change or lessen. It means that your life will not deteriorate, and it means that He will maintain it. Your life will be protected from danger or damage.

Beloved, seek Him, seek His truth, and you will find that you have more than enough to finish the race, more than enough to receive your prize. Your life, your lips, your countenance, and the blessings that will overflow in your life will cause you to draw others to you and to the Lord—Hallelujah!

October 7

“For evils beyond number have surrounded me; my iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; they are more numerous than the hairs of my head; and my heart has failed me” (Ps. 40:12).

Beloved, do the evils of this world surround you, evils beyond number? Oh, the enemy, how he loves to torment the saints, especially those who do exploits for the Lord. How fierce are his roars, how wretched are his schemes. How he does manage to paint a hopeless picture in order for us to fret, to worry so that we will do something, anything, to relieve our distresses. This is his plan so that he can steal our miracle. For he is a thief and his nature is to steal.

Beloved, have your iniquities, your sins—even a thought or a behavior that has gone against the Word of God—begun to consume you? Are you being denied God’s grace because you have failed to put your iniquities away from you? Is it envy or jealousy that has so easily beset you? Do you look with envy at others; those who have seemingly good marriages, with husbands who are faithful to them, and wish it were you? Do you look at the apparent ease and good fortune of those who have hurt you and think that you should be the one who deserves such “happiness”? Has it blinded your thinking that you are no longer able to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living?

Beloved, these evils that have surrounded you, these iniquities that have overtaken you—are they more numerous than the hairs on your head? Oh, Beloved, as long as you look at the evils, count them, and choose to acknowledge them, the more your heart will fail you.

Beloved, this is the time to put into action your faith. Remember, faith is all that is unseen. Everything that you see can be changed in an instant; therefore, why look upon it as if it were a permanent situation or circumstance? These are not the eyes of faith; they are the eyes of “facing reality” that will kill your faith, leaving you useless to God and His purpose of creating a testimony in you. Show your faith today by believing what you don’t see—ignore the reality of your seemingly hopeless situation. God will bring about your righteousness as the noonday. Weeping may last for a night, but rejoicing will come in the morning! Hallelujah!!

October 8

“Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; make haste, O Lord, to help me” (Ps. 40:13).

Beloved, do you believe that it is His pleasure to deliver you from your present circumstance? To deliver you from those who come against you? Oh, precious believer, it is His good pleasure to show Himself strong on your behalf. This is His delight. He loves you—you are one of His children. Is it not your desire as a mother or father to give to your children all they need? But you do not stop there; you also long to give them all that they want too.

However, Beloved, do you not also withhold or cause your child to wait for those things that they are not ready for, or for those things that are not yet ready for them? Who would hand their child meat that was not yet cooked? Or a garment that was not yet finished being sown, or a chair that was made that did not have all the nails in it to make it sturdy for their weight? No matter how much our child would whine and cry, we would insist they wait.

Beloved, is it not the same with you? Do you not see that the thing for which you wait is not ready for you, or you are not ready for it? Would you not withhold a car from a young person until he was well taught, well versed, in how to operate it? Such is the way of our Father. You have the manual, yet you do not bother to read it. You have the time to study, yet you find other things to occupy your time. So there are the keys, just out of reach, as you pout and cry for what your Father would give you, if you were ready for it.

Beloved, today, and in the weeks to come; spend time learning the ways of the Lord for this miracle that you yearn for. God will “make haste” when He sees your faithfulness. It will not only decrease your time of waiting, but it will also pass the time quickly. You may find that your period of waiting, those moments spent in His Word, are more precious than when your miracle finally arrives.

October 9

“Let those be ashamed and humiliated together who seek my life to destroy it; let those be turned back and dishonored who delight in my hurt” (Ps. 40:14).

Beloved, as a believer, for those who diligently seek Him and delight themselves in Him, we are promised that we will not be put to shame. Though others may look at us and mock—those who deride us to give up our silly notions of what God will do for us—even then He promises that we will not be ashamed and humiliated.

Instead, Beloved, we can in all good conscience ask that our enemies be put to shame—just as the Psalmist did in this verse—not desiring evil upon them, but for the purpose that, through this humiliation, through this shame, through this dishonor, they would turn back and turn from their ways, that He may be glorified!

Beloved, how many are those who seem to delight in your hurt? Then rejoice, for the Lord desires all of them to be put to shame. Those who together seek to destroy your life, your home, your marriage, your family—it is nothing to boast in. We must boast in the Lord! Letting Him be magnified in His allowing us to suffer for the sake of righteousness, His righteousness—this is when we are blessed! This is when the Lord pulls out all the stops and pours blessings all over our head. This is when we say, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever!”

October 10

“Let those be appalled because of their shame who say to me, ‘Aha, aha!’” (Ps. 40:15).

Beloved, are there those who enjoy using your painful situation as a topic of ridicule and mocking? Oh, may they be put to shame, those who look for opportunities to point out the destitute state that they had predicted.

Beloved, do not let the evidence concern you. Remember, your hope is in the Lord, and He delights in showing up at the last minute. He delights in actually leading you and backing you right up against the Red Sea in order to show Himself strong. If Gideon’s army was not as small as it finally was, God knew that He could not be glorified in it, so on purpose He subtracted from Gideon’s army!

Does this alarm you? Then, Beloved, you need more of God. You need to look into His Word and find out just what a mighty God you serve. You need to know His methods and His nature to build your faith. Read them, and mark them, then read them again to gain the faith that can move mountains. Abraham and Sarah’s promise was so magnificent because God waited, on purpose, for it to look like it was too late. Jesus waited after He heard of Lazarus’ being sick in order for God to be magnified when He raised him from the dead rather than a sick bed. What does He want to do in your life and in your situation that would glorify Him? Whatever it is, He will stack the odds against you, and wait until it looks hopeless before He shows up, in order for everyone to know that it was God alone who has done it!

October 11

“Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘The Lord be magnified!’” (Ps. 40:16).

Beloved, do you seek the Lord? Do you continually rejoice and are you glad in Him, your Savior? Oh, the joy that is felt in the hearts of those who seek the Lord. Yet, of those who claim to be believers, those who do not “seek” the Lord fall short of the rejoicing because they are not seeking Him. They hear of God doing a wonder or a miracle and they are amazed, but not to the point of rejoicing. Or worse, some even question the validity of the circumstance.

Beloved, wasn’t it that way with you not too long ago, before this dreaded situation took place in your life? Isn’t this trial you are walking through, with Him, worth the awakening in your spirit? Oh, if we could stay in this perfect mindset, how enjoyable the journey could be, how contented we would become—full of joy, full of peace. But instead we allow our flesh to begin to get restless after we have allowed our minds to dwell on things that are not lovely and of good report. We allow others who do not seek the Lord to speak into our lives.

Beloved, today seek the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul. Meditate on all the goodness of the Lord, all that He has done for you, big and small, and say continually this week, “The Lord be magnified!”

October 12

“Since I am afflicted and needy, let the Lord be mindful of me; You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God” (Ps. 40:17).

Beloved, He is a very present help in times of trouble. Oh, how well He knows your afflictions and how needy you are. Oh, how He keeps you in the forefront of His mind. Yes, He is your help and your deliverer. Cry out to Him. He is ready to comfort you and rescue you.

Beloved, His delay is for a very special purpose. He longs to be your all in all, to be your Comforter, to be your Friend. It is not until you are quite alone, with everyone indifferent to your pain, that the Lord can truly show you who He can be for you—your Everything!

Dearly Beloved, cry out to Him today, this morning! He is right there with you, waiting for your call. Let Him minister deep into your heart and soul. Let Him comfort you with the healing balm that you have never known. His lovingkindness is better than anything that you have ever experienced, so cry out to Him. Do not delay.

October 13

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!” (Ps. 1:1).

Beloved, are you truly blessed? Have you refrained from seeking or accepting the counsel and suggestions of those who violate the Word of God but are interested in leading you toward feeding your flesh? Have you attempted to stand in the way, blocking your loved-one from doing evil, even when that evil is directed at you? Have you sat and scoffed at others, mocking them for their evil deeds in your spiritual pride?

Beloved, God’s ways are perfect. If you want blessings to flow into your life and for favor to cover you, seek Him earnestly while He may be found. Keep your eyes on Him. Accept nothing contrary to His words of humility of mind. Run from those who attempt to feed your hurting flesh. Stop telling others of your woeful situation, but instead, open your lips with psalms and hymns and praises to God.

Beloved, a person who is bent on evil will only try harder to seek that evil, especially when someone who claims to be spiritual thwarts them. Remember, too, that when accusations are thrown your way, you must turn the other cheek when they strike you with those painful and accusing words. And never scoff at the sinful, for are we not sinners saved by grace? Are we not just a step away, a heartbeat away, a word away from transgression without the Lord upholding us with His right hand?

Seek the Lord. Do right. His Word is perfect, restoring the soul.

October 14

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night” (Ps. 1:2).

Beloved, where is your delight? Is it in talking about your situation to others? Is it the daydreaming of when someone you loves will return and what life will be like then? You must delight yourself in the law of the Lord. It is the ignorance of these laws, the laws that the entire universe was founded upon, that have caused us to walk this painful and lonely walk. Will you not use this time wisely?

Beloved, to meditate is to empty the mind of thoughts and concentrate your mind on one thing in order to develop your mind and your spirit. Those who use meditation, even those who meditate on things other than the Lord, seek meditation for relaxation. Oh, how wonderful for those whose mind is fix on Him or on a special portion of His Word to really bury that Word deep into every crevice of their heart! What peace they will find.

Beloved, take time to think about what He said, calmly, seriously and for some time—don’t rush through this process. Oh, the urgency of your heart, your soul, and mind—it is what is causing you to become anxious and causing you distress that results in doing wrong, causing your hope to fall.

Today, think, ponder, and meditate on the Lord. Take a special portion of His Word and meditate on it. Do it every day, and let Him and His Word become buried deep in your soul.

October 15

“And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers” (Ps. 1:3).

Beloved, oh, to be a luscious tree, firmly planted by the streams of His living waters!! Oh, to drink it in through the very roots of our being!

Beloved, where are you planted? Do you thirst, but seek not to uproot from your desert land where you now abide? He is, Jesus is, the fountain of life! He said to come, drink. Yet, we instead choose to quench our thirst with the colas and sodas of the world. Our Lord said that when we drink from Him and His Word, we would never thirst again. Oh, drink of Him! He is pure. He will clean your soul, your mind, and wash away your past! The beverages of the world neither refresh nor cleanse, but leave a horrible aftertaste and you are still thirsty.

And oh, Beloved, what will you have to offer that person who is in the desert land who is so dehydrated that they soon will die in their sins and transgressions? Will you have true living waters to offer them? You will not unless you are a frequent dweller next to His streams. Go there and drink your fill every day until you are spilling over with the waters of life.

What a promise this drinking of the streams of living waters gives us: that we will yield fruit in a season (that will soon come), that we will not see our leaves withering but will stay green. And, the most precious of all promises: we will prosper in whatever we lay our hand to!! What a blessed and awesome promise we possess if we just plant ourselves close to the banks of His streams and drink fully every day, all day.

Beloved, drink.

October 16

“The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away” (Ps. 1:4).

Beloved, take a close look at the destitute state of those who seek after and fulfill wickedness: they are like chaff. This means that they are dry (did we not meditate yesterday on their dry and thirsty state?), the dry coverings of grains, which are separated by the process of threshing. Oh, how destitute, how lacking of the resources necessary for subsistence. What do you have to offer them?

Soon, oh so soon, they will be blown away as the wind drives them away, further into the depths of despair and sin. Does your heart break for them, or do you still live with contemptuous thoughts, lacking compassion and respect because they are sinners and have chosen this path? Oh, Beloved, where would we be if we did not have a God who loved us enough to send us a Savior while we were yet sinners?

Beloved, if these thoughts of contempt are still in your mind—feelings or consideration of those who have wronged you (and all those who are involved) as worthless, inferior, or undeserving of our compassion—then I would tell you, dearly Beloved, that you do not have enough of Christ crucified in you. Cry out to Him for a heart of flesh and for you to be more like Him.

Do it today. Spend not another day or hour or moment before you fall to your knees seeking more of Him.

October 17

“Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous” (Ps. 1:5).

Beloved, it is not the wicked who will stand in judgment; it will be you and me. All of what we do, good and bad, will be judged whether it be worthy or worthless. When the fire comes and consumes those things that you have laid at the feet of Jesus, will there be any gold remaining? What do you set your sights and goals on day after day? The things that are eternal, or the things that are temporal?

Nor will sinners be allowed to enter into the assembly of the righteous. Beloved, where will your loved-ones be standing? Will they be standing outside the gates, with the destitute who are lacking what will be necessary to “enter in”? And if this is so, what are you doing about it? Are you crying out to your Savior?

Beloved, is your loved-one standing far off from the gates or even running from them because they are still running from you? Have you truly let go and put the state of their soul above your desires to have them back? Is your face a glowing example of God’s mercy and love, the tone of your voice that of peace, so that they are naturally drawn to you, and thereby drawn to the Lord Himself?

Today, talk to the Lord about the state of your loved-one’s neediness and, if you have stood in their way of finding Him, repent.

October 18

“O magnify the Lord with me” (Ps. 34:3).

Beloved, let us together glorify the Lord with great joy! He is good and worthy to be praised. Are you in despair, fighting depression? It is simply because you have focused on your troubles; you are spending your energies on what you can see, not on what is about to come. It will take praise and joy, continual feasting on His goodness, to bring the miracle that you want. Worry and fretting will keep it away; they will push it far from the door of your house.

Beloved, this is the life of the true believer who is set apart and will bring glory to God. The carnal Christian who lives like the world will never experience truly miraculous signs and wonders because it takes faith—believing what is unseen yet promised to them in God’s Word. Rejoice with me; let us exalt His name forever!

October 19

“O taste and see the Lord is good” (Ps. 34:8).

Beloved, our God is a good God. You must know and grasp this concept. And not only is He good, but He is good all the time. When trials come our way, we mustn’t let go of this truth: God is good. The life of Job is the most wonderful example of a man who continued to bless God no matter what came his way. And the outcome was God’s reward of double all that had been taken away and a long life to enjoy it.

Beloved, too many question God’s goodness and thus remove the possibility of the blessing that would have come. Do you think that those who fret or turn their backs on God when things are just not going right will be blessed like our friend Job? Certainly not. It takes blessing God in the midst of all that comes in to destroy us. This will cause the Lord to shower you with the blessings you are anticipating and hoping for.

October 20

“He put a new song in my mouth . . .” (Ps. 40:3).

Beloved, what song do you sing as you awaken in the morning? Is it a song of praise to our God? Does your mind focus on the promise that His mercies are new every morning? This alone should put a smile on our face and praise on our lips. How precious are the promises of our God. Is this the meditation of your heart?

Sing a new song of praise to our God. Let His praise be continually on your lips throughout the day. Let the goodness of our Lord enlarge your heart and spring forth in song. Then will your countenance be lifted up and others will be drawn to you. Not just your wayward loved-one, but all will come to see the light that radiates within you. Sing to God a new song, a song of praise to our God!

October 21

“Blessed be the name of the Lord . . .” (Ps. 113:2).

Beloved, bless the name of the Lord! Let us exalt His holy name, for He is good and worthy to be praised. He drew me out of many waters, waters that were too powerful for me. He set me upon a Rock, making my footsteps firm. He lifted me above my enemies, those who were too strong for me.

Beloved, are you in deep waters? Has your situation caused your soul to fear? Cry out to the Lord and He will save you! He is here. You are not alone. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all! I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Therefore, wait. Be strong. Let your heart take courage. Yes, Beloved, wait on the Lord. For He is good and worthy to be praised! Hallelujah!!

October 22

“But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation” (Ps. 13:5).

Beloved, have you trusted in the Lord’s lovingkindness toward you? He is good and His lovingkindness endures, lasts, and remains forever! He and His lovingkindness are what will allow you never to be shaken. No matter if it seems that the mountains are falling into the sea, your heart will be steadfast and sure in Him.

Beloved, do you know the lovingkindness of the Lord? Have you learned to bask in His love toward you? Today, this morning, sit in His presence. Sit and think of Him. Let His Spirit of love envelop you. Let His love penetrate your heart. Then, your heart shall rejoice in Him and in His salvation. Blessed be the name of the Lord, who has not turned away His heart or His ears from our cry.

October 23

“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Ps. 23:6).

Beloved, goodness and His infinite lovingkindness will follow you through all the ups and downs of your life. Do you believe that? Is your heart fixed, steadfast and firm, in this precious and powerful promise? If not, then you need to grasp this—that it is His lovingkindness that will cast out all fear, because perfect love, His love, is powerful enough to cast out every fear that plagues you.

Beloved, the Lord loves you above all else. You are precious in His sight. You are the apple of His eye—like a Father who looks with joy over His precious son or daughter. He loves you with an everlasting love. That means that it cannot end. This is His promise to you. Take His promise; take Him at His Word, for God cannot lie. He loves you and cherishes you. Tell Him today, this morning, how much you love Him and then ask Him to show you how He feels about you. You will never be the same.

October 24

“All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies” (Ps. 25:10).

Beloved, all the paths that the Lord will lead you on will be filled with His lovingkindness and His truth. With this knowledge of His truth, you will not fear the future nor any onslaught of the wicked when it comes. But you must be faithful to keep His covenant and follow the testimonies that He has sent to guide you.

Beloved, it is knowing and understanding the Lord’s infinite and powerful love for us that enables us to follow that path. For those who know it, bask in it, ponder it in their hearts, meditate on it day and night—these are the ones who follow the Lord on the narrow path toward restoration. They have nothing to fear but fear itself. For fear tells us that we have ceased to grasp and surround ourselves with the Lord’s lovingkindness.

Seek the Lord while He may be found. Don’t rush out this morning or go to sleep tonight without allowing the Lord to pour His love into your heart.

October 25

“For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth” (Ps. 26:3).

Beloved, what is in front of your eyes? Do you look at your situation and the hopelessness of your future? Oh, how that will cast down your soul to the pit. It is there that the enemy wants you to stay, to remain captive through fear.

Beloved, look into the eyes of your Savior; look how He opens His arms wide, wide enough to nail all of our transgressions to the cross. Are these not the eyes of Someone who is thoroughly acquainted with our grief because of our sins? Lay them at the feet of Him who died and shed His blood to cover our sins, for love covers the multitude of our sins so that He no longer remembers them—they are cast away as far as the east is from the west.

Now, place His lovingkindness before your eyes and walk in the truth that you are not only forgiven but also loved with an everlasting love! Praise the Lord!!

“I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness, because You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul . . .” (Ps. 31:7).

Beloved, will you rejoice and be glad in the Lord’s good and perfect lovingkindness toward you? Can you remember each and every time that the Lord has seen your afflictions and rescued your soul from the pit of despair and hopelessness? Then rejoice! Think on the things He has done. Write them down and rehearse them over and over again. This will cause the enemy of fear and despondency to flee. Rejoice!!

Beloved, the Lord sees your afflictions; He knows the troubles of your soul. But redemption and escape will be found not when your trials and tribulations cease but when you rejoice in the Lord in the midst of your trials. It is in knowing and meditating on the Lord’s lovingkindness toward us that will cause us to rejoice right in the midst of the flames. Hallelujah!

“Many are the sorrows of the wicked; but he who trusts in the Lord, lovingkindness shall surround him” (Ps. 32:10).

Beloved, are you full of sorrow? Then you have lost that trust in the Lord. You need not trust in your circumstances, which appear hopeless, because your trust is in Him. Your sorrow is a giant wall that the Lord’s lovingkindness cannot penetrate. Turn to Him; acknowledge the lovingkindness in the Lord. It is your sorrow that is causing you to doubt Him. Turn your eyes away from your situation. Turn your ears away from those who tell you that it is hopeless. Look instead to the One who loved you with the lovingkindness that enabled you to be saved and come into the family of the Lord.

Beloved, this power of His lovingkindness will save you from your sorrows, for our trust is in Him, not in ourselves. Today, this morning, allow His lovingkindness to surround you. Allow His love to encircle you as with a shield. Stay behind this shield of faith and never stray from it. Meditate on His promises and the testimonies of others that prove without a shadow of a doubt that He can and will restore you and your family in every way. Blessed be the name of the Lord!!

“Let Your lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in You” (Ps. 33:22).

Beloved, is your hope in Him? His Word has told us time and again that all that happens, whether good or bad, will be “according” to our faith and as we have hoped in the Lord.

Beloved, if how you are thinking and believing right now is not how you want things to turn out, if you are not hoping in His lovingkindness toward you, if you do not believe that goodness and lovingkindness will follow you all the days of your life, then you must find and meditate on His precious and priceless promises to you. Spend more and more and more time in His Word. Put down all other reading. Turn off the television that will rob you of the peace that surpasses all understanding. Consume and digest large portions of His Word to bury deep in your soul. Let the Lord’s lovingkindness be upon you. Amen.

“Your lovingkindness, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies” (Ps. 36:5).

Beloved, where can you hide from the lovingkindness of the Lord? Your soul can be cast down to the bottom of the sea, but His lovingkindness is there. How far are the heavens above the earth? No one can fathom this distance, yet His lovingkindness extends to the heavens and His faithfulness toward us reaches to the skies.

Beloved, if we would fix our minds and hearts on the infinite power and authority that the Lord’s love has over all of our distresses, we would cease to worry. It is worry and fear that will quench the fire of the Holy Spirit, and the enemy knows it. But with the truth in hand, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, we can come against this foe and annihilate fear once and for all. It is the perfect love of the Lord that will cast out all fear.

Know and understand how much God loves you, so much so that He gave His only Son, whom He loves, to die for you so that you might live in Him and His love for you.

“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings” (Ps. 36:7).

Beloved, do you know the preciousness of the Lord’s lovingkindness toward you? Do you take the time every morning to seek Him, seek His face and His love, that you may be filled to overflowing? It is early that we are to seek Him because He knows that we will need His love in our hearts so that our faces will radiate the love of the Lord. It is in our countenance that others can see that we have what they need—Him!

Beloved, set aside this precious time to bask in the Lord and to be fully acquainted with the shadow of His wings. For in the day of trouble He will hide you. However, those who limit their time or allow days to slip by without this time of lovingkindness find that they are shaken when the onslaught of the wicked comes. In their panic they run amiss. But those who seek the Lord continually run to the refuge under the shadow of the wings of the Almighty. Seek Him while He may be found.

“O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart”

(Ps. 36:10).

Beloved, do you know the Lord? Are you fully acquainted with His lovingkindness toward you? For once you grasp this awesome principle; there is nothing, not one thing, that can cause you pain or grief. It is in the knowing that you are safe from all evil intent. The Lord is more than enough for me; is He more than enough for you?

Beloved, take all that the Lord has for you; spend time, quality time and a large quantity of time, with Him every day. Guard it with all that you are, for in it is the salvation of your soul, your spirit, your joy, your restoration. It is in His righteousness that you will gain the uprightness of heart that will assure your future. Nothing that you do today will mean more than the time you spend with Him right now. Spend this morning and tomorrow morning and every morning this week getting to know and feel the lovingkindness the Lord has toward you.
