Dear Brides, Chapter 5 Making the Most of Each Day "How You Get Started!" in the workers@home book is a great start to learning how to get your day started! It is full of practical everyday ideas and teaches as you SG for His wisdom and guidance into the routine He has planned for you, He will show You!
"The wisest of women builds up her home, but a stupid one tears it down with her own hands." Proverbs 14:1 (GW)
So true!! I know now to seek His wisdom and guidance in regards to homemaking! My plans fail but His way is ALWAYS best!
Chapter 5 Making the Most of Each Day "How You Get Started!" in the workers@home book is a great refresher course. I love how Erin said a routine is what we do (what has become our habit) and a schedule and time can be part of it. Establishing a routine is made light and easy when we ask out HL to establish it for us!
In the past, I struggled with making a schedule and I made it too firm. Now, with the help of my HH, I have a routine. In the past, as I shared before, I set an alarm clock. Now I trust Him to wake me up and He does gently EVERY morning!Β I ask Him to let me sleep until He wants me to wake up. I am not rushed. I have time to spend with Him in prayer and reading His word while I have coffee before I ever set foot out of my front door! It is life-changing and mindset changing!
What has made this routine easy to keep is sticking to my bedtime. Even if I am not sleepy, I use the designated time frame to relax with my feet up, listen to quiet praise music or an audible book or speaker while I crochet.
It calms me down and lets me easily fall asleep. Sometimes,Β I simply spend time talking about the day and the day to come with my sweet love. Then as Psalm 4 says, in peace I both lie down and sleep! Psalm 4:8 "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety".
A set time frame is what causes the routine to allow us to become stressed. Simply "take your thoughts captive" and SG and His plan for your routine. The routines for children, grandchildren, and work will follow suit.
"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ," 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)
Instead of letting my thoughts and plans get caught up in the ways of the word, He will show me pans for the routine He has for me as I follow Him and obey His word.
I too struggled with feeling guilty if I thought I did not wake up early enough to spend time with Him. Now I know He provides just what I need at the time I need it. Sometimes, I do miss "enough" time with Him in the morning, but He is faithful to find a way or ways throughout the day when I can sneak away to be with Him! I am thankful for His grace.
Dear Love, thank You for all that You have provided for me. Thank You for giving me a "want to" routine for the most part because of the work you have provided for me. Please show me the things I need to do in "our" house that I am pleasing to You. I want to be in Your will. Thank You Love.
The workers@home book is a great "how-to" book for us all! Chock full of simple daily ideas, tips, and routines it is sure to keep your life light and easy as You walk out the ideas with pleasing Him in mind!
