In the (not so) wilderness :)

Earlier this year my youngest daughter announced that she was pregnant with their second baby. When her first baby (a girl) was born it was during Covid and I was not able to visit her (I’m in S.A and she is in the U.K.) Hower last year I visited her for 2 months and met my 1st grandaughter. She then asked me early in her pregnancy if I would come to the U.K to help her when the second baby (also a girl) will be born.
We could not decide for how long as my children (3 out of the 4) live in the U.K and wanted me to stay for Christmas which would mean a 4 month stay. That would mean I would leave behind my fiancee and my household which includes his mother (who suffers from dementia) and his stepfather who has had a stroke and only has the use of one arm.

I knew that it would bring about problems as my fiancee would have to take care of everything for four months. I prayed and asked my Heavenly Love to show me how long HE wanted me to stay. And it was 4 months.

I believe that my HL (Heavenly Love) removed me for so long to do a work in me as I was so contentious and impatient and downright rude to my fiancee s mother that it was a disgrace. A situation which caused many a discord between myself and my fiancee. And a house divided will not stand. (Mark 3:25).

When He removes lover and friend from us it is to do a work in us. Ps. 88 v 8. NLT . And I believe also that I have been placed here so that He might work THROUGH me to bring my loved ones TO Him. My immediate family here in the U.K are non-believers as well as my family back home in S.A. And sometimes I feel very alone although my Heavenly Love never leaves me alone.

  1. Thank you for sharing and opening your heart dear Denise, our wonderful Lord is the best ever and He know what to do, to bring us closer to Him. I want to encourage you to read Restore Your Relationships (https://loveatlast.org/ryr/), I started and every Chapter is touching my heart so much, He is really the Potter and we are the clay and I love how He forms us and knows were we need changing:

  2. Thank you Denis for sharing your heart. As Janine shared, the Restore Your Relationships is such a powerful course and really worth working through, I am currently journalling through RYR. Even though I do not have a relationship that need restoration at the moment, this course helps to maintain our current relationships the way our Beloved intended. I do not know if you read my brother’s Salvation Story (https://loveatlast.org/fc/ss/), but I will share the link with you. He used to be a atheist and now he plays base guitar in his church band and write songs for his Best Friend. https://loveatlast.org/a-huge-answered-prayer-and-%e2%9c%a8-salvation-story-%f0%9f%93%96%f0%9f%8e%a4/.

  3. Hi Atarah yes I did read your testimony and all the glory and all the praise goes to Him. And I know that He can do above what we think or imagine. I have read through a couple of the RYR but I think I must actually do the course and Journal as well, it’s been a while since I’ve done one .

  4. I agree that RYR https://loveatlast.org/ryr/ is filled with amazing principles I use all the time in all my relationships. The question we must first ask our Husband is if the relationship is one He is blessed for us to continue or if it is a relationship He wants us to let go of in order to please Him and become closer, more dependent, and more intimate with Him.

“Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, β€œSee, we did not know this,” Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?” Proverbs 24:11-12
