The Longing for Security

“I have made, and I will bear…” Isaiah 46:4
Dear brides, I have grown to love Isaiah so much that I keep on reading/listening to it over and over. His words are so comforting to me. When I came across this verse again, I just fell in love with Him again. “Even to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”
Can I say I start to imagining myself at an old age sitting by the window looking out, just chatting with my love about my day? “For dust you are, and to dust you shall return”. Genesis 3:19 Can I be bold to say that I look forward to the day I will meet Him in-person?
I have always been a lonely child, not because I am the only child; it’s because I never felt the sense of security in my environment. I have always been longing for it and after so many years, He is the only one who can provide what I need – that is not fading and does not change with circumstances.
Dear brides, each one of us has unique needs that are not fulfilled for one reason or another. Would you look to Him to fill your cup? “You treat me to a feast, while my enemies watch. You honor me as your guest, and you fill my cup until it overflows. Your kindness and love will always be with me each day of my life, and I will live forever in your house, LORD.” Psalms 23:5-6
Your Heavenly Husband awaits. “Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion…” Isaiah 30:18

  1. I am glad that you have found a source of comfort in Him. I pray that He will continue to bless you and fill your cup to overflowing.

“But whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty again. The water I give will become a spring of water flowing inside him. It will give him eternal life.” J4:14

    1. Thank you Hope! Love the verse about “spring of water flowing inside Him”. Just by imagining that makes me feel so refreshed.

  2. Thank you for this reminder dear Gioia to look at our wonderful Lord to fill our cup and He is truly the only One that can do it. I too enjoy reading Isaiah so much, my Darling gave me so many many promises out of Isaiah, years ago.
    Here are a few:
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” I48:17
I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. I45:2-3
β€œForget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. I43:18-19
β€œIn repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. I30:15

    1. Dear Janine, thank you for sharing! I remember pondering “riches stored in secret places” for a while and just felt so blessed by a loving Lord. Not only does He leads, He leads us straight to treasures. Hope the moving has been going well!

      1. Dear Gioia, I am so grateful that this journey is with my Husband, He is really leading me all the way. My heart was sore to move, but then He reminded me what He teached me years ago about my words – β€œDeath and life are in the power of the tongue.” P18:21, because I started saying I don’t like moving at all and I don’t like change so not I rather say I know this is a journey with my Darling and I am going to enjoy every step with Him. My parents are moving in tomorrow and I will be moving in Saturday and I look forward what I am going to learn out of this journey.

        1. Dear Janine, everything will work out exactly how He has planned for you. I agree – words are like sowing seeds to me. I am also trying to be watchful for what I say, though I do slip sometimes. Anyways, I am excited for you – He will provide.

  3. Dear Gioia, thank you for sharing your feelings, I really loved when you said “at an old age sitting by the window looking out, just chatting with my love” – I confess I pictured myself in this wonderful scenario , I felt so blessed and in love❣️

    1. Dear Paula, I am glad this imagination brought you much comfort too! Sometimes a little imagination is what can bring us closer to Him.

  4. Thank you Gioia for sharing, I can relate so much with what you shared about being a lonely child not feeling safe in your environment, I felt exactly the same growing up.

But now I have my HH and I do not feel lonely or unsafe anymore, He is always with me and I can just feel safe wrapped in His arms, knowing that He will never let go.

I love the verse you shared β€œEven to your old age I am He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.”

    1. Thank you Adina for sharing! I used to think the upbringing would define who I am, good or bad because I do not have the ability to change any of it. Now I know He came to wash us “white as snow”. I am no longer defined by the past but He says.
