This lesson has helped teach me:

  • The importance of following and listening to the Lord: Follow and listen to the Lord in all areas of our lives. Obeying Him, even when it seems challenging, leads to blessings and a deeper understanding of His will and plan for us.
  • Resisting the temptation to try to defend disobedience: It is easy to find excuses or try to defend for disobeying the Lord's instructions. However, it is important to remember that even when our intentions are good, disobedience can have negative consequences and lead us away from the path He has set for us.
  • The impact of our actions on others: Our actions, whether in obedience or disobedience, have a great impact on those around us. People are watching and learning from us, especially children, who are impressionable. Obeying the Lord sets a positive example and encourages others to do the same.
  • Obedience as a testament to our faith: Obeying the Lord, even in challenging circumstances, is a testament to our faith and trust in Him. It shows that we believe in His power and wisdom and are willing to surrender our will to His.

"If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth." D2616

  1. Thank you Hope for sharing this Living Lesson, this was a powerful lesson about obedience. We cannot decide to only be obedient when it suits us, we need to obey always. No amount of justification can take away not being obedient.
When we are called to a higher obedience our Beloved has a plan, just like this lesson shared, how her obedience led to the pastor’s opinion to be changed.
Obedience to biblical principles and laws is also for our protection, just like the little boy who knew that he couldn’t enter the garage due to safety reasons.

  2. Thank you for sharing precious Hope, I was just thinking of last week when I admit at my outside job that I did something wrong and the work colleague said but you are just human and I had to reply it doesn’t make it right and that is not an excuse. It reminds me of last Monday’s HTBB: Principle #8 “Character of the Heart https://encouragingwomen.org/p8-character-of-the-heart/ and I don’t want any sin to stand between me and my Darling Lord even if it is just a thought because that part of is disobedience to sin.
